Let’s talk hiring!

In this podcast episode, I thought it would be important to talk about why most business owners will not hire or outsource their tasks to others to complete. This topic came about when I was conversing with a close business friend of mine, Dottie Reynolds. Dottie had a very intriguing question, which made me wonder why business owners hire coaches to be taught to do things on their own versus outsourcing that workload.

When I first started my business, I was guilty of doing everything on my own. I am capable of doing the majority of the facets of my career, but having my team has made everything so much easier to concentrate and execute. I absolutely feel like a girl that got visible!

In this episode, I speak about at least 7 different reasons as to why someone will not be hired, someone else for their work and things you should consider when making that decision. Whether it is due to cost, perception of what you think is hard work, or not trusting others to work on your business niche, every business owner has their own reason.

You’ll learn in this episode:

  •   What are the typical reasons someone would avoid hiring someone, for their business?
  •  What are the top reasons why someone will not outsource work?
  •  Why outsourcing may be considered expensive versus getting coaching?
  •   How to know when it is time to outsource that workload?

I hope this episode really helps you to invest in yourself and not always rely on outsourcing talent.

As a business owner that uses search engine optimization (SEO) as a strategy, we absolutely love keeping up with Google. On average, Google provides updates every few months and it is usually when they receive wind of a new trick uprooting the goal of providing unique and authentic content. Well guess what, in both May and August of 2022, Google has updated their algorithm again.

When Google decides to do small updates to their algorithm, business owners start to feel the effects immediately. Recently, I have been looking on Facebook and conducting reviews of my client’s work and we have hit a wall in our SEO journey. Content creators and business owners are struggling with the concept of doing all the things necessary to get visible, but not seeing the results they desire.

It can be frustrating to provide consistent, blog posts, podcast episodes, products, and courses for your audience, with little to no traction to your site. You’re probably also using common SEO tools to get a sense of how your site is doing and still no luck.

I am here to tell you that the lack of results may not be due to the steps you are taking or the tools you are using, but instead, the things that we are writing. Certain tools that help with SEO are great, but they aren’t everything. SEO tools focuses on analyzing information you’ve provided, instead of analyzing what you may be missing. And the next appropriate step in finding out what you are missing, could be to hire an SEO strategist and we are always here to help increase your traction and visibility.

Girl Get Visible podcast will always provide to our audience different ways to increase visibility and get out of the sea of sameness in our areas of expertise. Today’s episode is no different, as we are going to be talking about how to use webinars to give our business life. I am so excited to introduce the webinar queen and owner of Vizions Consulting LLC, DeKesha Williams.

Webinars are a tool that can help you grow and increase your profit, and our guest today is a phenomenal expert on how to do so. We may shy away from webinars because we have the fear, of not getting enough participants to fill the room or we don’t know how often to hold webinars to benefit their business.

DeKesha has years of experience within the retail management industry, which has allowed her to easily to help other business owners with successful strategies, such as using webinars. Ms. Williams provides insight to women entrepreneurs on styles of webinars, how to drive traffic into your webinars, how webinars can apply to your ideal client and how to make it work for your business.

In this episode, you will learn:

  • Why webinars are necessary for your business?
  • How to determine whether to have paid versus free webinars?
  • How to fill your webinar rooms?

Did you know that podcasting is one of three sustainable places to make your content?

Podcast SEO is extremely important and has gained an immense increase in attraction online and within the business community. Even major companies are expanding their products to host and invest into the podcast community. I’ve been within the podcast space for years, and it still shocks me when I find out SEO is not being used. People are really struggling, because although SEO is pretty old and podcasting is old, no one is marrying the two. The best way for podcasters to grow and be seen is by using SEO, because with SEO, we intentionally make content our audience is looking for. It is no longer enough to post a show or have many episodes, there has to be intention behind it.

Now, this increase in investment around podcast SEO, can be seen as both positive and not so great due to the increased competition. However, using SEO with your podcast works and we must start acknowledging it.

In this episode you’ll learn:

  • What podcast SEO is?
  • Why is it important as a podcaster to use podcast SEO?
  • How is the podcast community growing and why is it both good and not so good?
  • What are the things that impact your SEO?

Remember, don’t close yourself off to more opportunities, by not using SEO for your podcast.

BONUS: Here is the free SEO Podcast Scorecard to help you to see if your podcast show is doing well with integrating SEO.
